Speak English and Travel…for the Lord!
Do you or someone you know: Speak English, love to travel, and love Jesus?
If so, there is a great opportunity to do all three with one of our preferred Missions Partners! This is a great opportunity for students looking for international opportunities, for recently retired folks, or for anyone who has the time and availability to travel.
The English center in Dakar, Senegal, is looking for short-term English teachers.
Short-term English teachers teach an eight-week session of classes to university students (20-30 years of age) in one of three levels, from intermediate to advanced.
A teaching degree is not necessary to teach at the English Center; there is online help available for teaching English as a foreign language. Here are the requirements for working at the English Center:
A love for the Lord, and a passion for the lost
Fluent in English
Self-motivated, independent nature (we will help you find your way around, but you’ll be living on your own, a bit of a distance from our apartment)
Creative thinker – we provide you with the basic curriculum, but adding Biblical content and related activities would be up to you.
Having some French is very helpful, but not required
Short-term teachers live in a guesthouse in Dakar.
They are currently looking for short-term workers for these sessions:
Fall of 2026 – mid-October to mid-December
This happens to be the least comfortable time of the year, with high heat and humidity. However, it’s the session where they are the most short-staffed!
Spring of 2027 – mid-March to early May
They still have a need for one more teacher.
