Strengthening Churches

Helping your church fulfill its mission to help more people meet, know and follow Jesus.

A healthy church, while enjoying what God is doing today, is actively advancing in preparation for what God is leading them to tomorrow. They are engaging in church planting and missions – both locally and globally – because they are more concerned about God’s kingdom than about what they gain. A healthy church is seeing people come to Christ on a regular basis and functioning according to its purpose and mission.

To accomplish this, a church needs healthy leaders and systems to support it, plus close relationships with other like-minded churches. Through assessment, coaching and resourcing, strategic planning and supportive networks, CGL helps your church maximize your God-given potential to fulfill your mission.

Finding the right pastor in a time of transition can be a daunting proposition. Converge Great Lakes can help throughout the process, from establishing a search team, assessing your church situation, to finding an interim pastor, to giving guidance through the entire process. Lead Teams

A LEAD Team is a gathering of relationally and missionally committed pastors from a geographical region or affinity group. Teams meet together regularly to build meaningful relationships, focus on spiritual growth, and work together to see mission accomplished through multiplying (planting) new churches, and nurturing church health. While church planting is a strong emphasis of each LEAD Team, church health is equally important.

Participating pastors/leaders challenge each other, learn together, and resource one another in a caring environment to stimulate the mobilization, health, and impact of each church involved in the team.

Assessment

Where are we, and where are we going? Those are questions every church needs to ask and answer periodically for healthy and sustained ministry. Converge Great Lakes can provided both processes and trained coaches to help a church take deep look inside as well as down the road. We offer four primary tools that can be tailored to your specific needs. Click on the following link to download a brochure explaining each.

Readiness for Change Assessment: Change is an inevitable part of any church’s journey. Whether driven by shifting demographics, new ministry opportunities, leadership transitions, or cultural trends, change brings both promise and challenge. Leading change well requires more than good ideas—it demands vision, courage, alignment, and trust. It also involves risk: the risk of discomfort, resistance, miscommunication, or even failure. Before launching into a season of transformation, it’s wise to evaluate your church’s current capacity and readiness to take on such a journey.

This self-assessment, based on John Kotter’s principles in Leading Change, will help you honestly reflect on whether your church has the leadership strength, urgency, and unity necessary to engage change well. The results are not about pass or fail—they're meant to guide prayerful, strategic next steps. DOWNLOAD ASSESEMENT

It's so great to be able to pick up the phone and have someone that you know and trust be available to bounce ideas past and get another ministry perspective on your issue - just helping work through hard decisions and conversations. Working with CGL is truly living out the "better together' motto!
