  • First Baptist Church of Sturgeon Bay, a smaller mid-sized congregation of approximately 150 in a community of 10,000 in Door County, Wisconsin, seeks the right person to join our church as associate pastor. Initially, he will work with many and various family ministries. This pastor will have a sincere and passionate interest in such ministries and will work directly with children and youth as well as develop and oversee ministry teams composed of gifted and committed laypersons, whom he will train and equip to carry out ministries in church and community.

This person takes seriously his relationship with Jesus Christ and his growth as a disciple; he embraces the sovereignty of God and esteems the doctrines of grace; he demonstrates proficiency in studying and understanding the Bible and teaching its truth; he aims to give himself to prayer and the ministry of the Word; he understands and endorses historic Baptist convictions and perspectives; he enjoys healthy interpersonal relationships with a variety of people, and works to get along with others.

This pastor appreciates working cooperatively with a senior pastor and understands the value and necessity of a supportive and complementary relationship with both the senior pastor and other church leaders. Further, he regards service with First Baptist Church as a ministerial destination and not merely as a stop on a ministerial journey.

    Overview

    1. Along with many and various pastoral responsibilities, the Associate Pastor will give attention to a variety of “family ministries”. It is expected that the Associate Pastor will develop and lead ministers from within the congregation to use their gifts, talents, and energy to carry out the ministries.

These ministries may include, and are not limited to:

    Nursery and Children’s Church

    Youth Groups

    Vacation Bible School

Sunday School and Children’s Club Programs

    Children’s and/or Youth Musical/Drama Programs

    Mission Teams/Outreach Opportunities

    Family Christian Education Opportunities

    2. The Pastor will be a member of and work closely with the Education Committee and will serve ex officio (with voice and vote) on each of the Education Committee’s task forces, subcommittees and/or ministry teams created by the Education Committee to carry out their work. It is anticipated that the Pastor will attend Church Board meetings and, after two years of ministry with FBC, will become a member of the Church Board. (In addition, after a year of ministry, he will attend Deacon Committee meetings.)

    3. The Pastor will engage in many other pastoral responsibilities, including regular teaching in a variety of settings and preaching on Sunday at least six times per year, and probably more.

    4. The Pastor will subscribe without reservation to the church’s Statement of Faith and Church Covenant and will be in full agreement with Article 4 of the Church Constitution, which deals with church membership. In addition, he will embrace the church’s philosophy of ministry and values guiding our church’s leadership. Furthermore, he must agree to abide by the Converge (formerly known as Baptist General Conference) Code of Ministerial Ethics and shall also consider First Baptist Church the proper and legitimate caretaker of his ministerial credentials, including licensure and ordination.

    5. The Pastor must be willing to consider a long-term commitment to First Baptist Church of Sturgeon Bay.

    Compensation

    1. To enable maximum use of personal gifts and abilities for the good of the body of believers and to the glory of God, First Baptist Church will seek to meet the financial needs and obligations of the Pastor with a fair and reasonable salary and benefits package. The compensation package will give consideration not only to salary and housing allowance, but also health insurance, retirement, time off (including vacation), and personal growth and development. In addition, the church shall provide proper reimbursement for ministerial expenses, including mileage and personal professional expenses.

    2. The Pastor and the Church Board must exercise honesty and ethical integrity in dealing with the various issues of compensation. The Church Board will review and update the specifics of the compensation package annually.

  • The Pastor of Youth and Discipleship is passionately responsible for leading Valleybrook’s Imitate

Youth (grades 6-12) ministry and overseeing a successful church wide small groups/one-on-one

    discipleship ministry.

    Valleybrook Church Website Posting

    Overview

Valleybrook Church is a church of real people who are celebrating an awesome God. Our mission is: “to know and share the life-changing love of God” and our core values are: Renewing & Restoring, Whole-Life Worship, Valuing Every Person, Better Together, and Making Disciples. We strive to be a Bible-centered church where every person can be welcomed through grace and challenged by truth. Our leadership is egalitarian (see our statement of beliefs: valleybrookchurch.org/whatwebelieve).

We have a staff team of three full-time pastors and three part-time ministry staff. Our elder team is passionate, devoted, and faithful. Our average Sunday attendance and online streaming is around 250 people. We are engaged in numerous community events and outreaches, which is resulting in growing diversity. We have a strong presence of young families, young adults, college students, and 20-25 middle & high school students. 50% of the church participates in small groups, support groups, or in one-on-one discipleship relationships.

Valleybrook Church began in 1993 as “a place for people who had given up on church but hadn’t given up on God” and quickly became a thriving church that owns (debt-free) a historic movie theater and several other buildings in downtown Eau Claire, Wisconsin. Around 2015, our church was humbled by the uncovering of a former Lead Pastor’s significant spiritual abuse of others. With denominational help, an Interim Pastor helped return us to health and rebuild trust within the church and community. In 2017, Pastor Travis Albrecht accepted the call as Lead Pastor. Through God’s grace, we are a healthy church with multigenerational families, young adults, and college students.

Valleybrook is located in the heart of downtown Eau Claire, Wisconsin. Our city is considered the hub of Northwest Wisconsin and is our state’s 7th largest city with a rapidly growing community of about 70,000 people. We are located within 90 minutes of Minneapolis and St. Paul, MN. The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire (about 10,000 undergraduates) and Chippewa Valley Technical College (with roughly 3,000 students) is a large draw to our community. Eau Claire is filled with bike trails and parks. Summers bring several major outdoor music festivals, with live music in the summer on almost every night in local parks. The Pablo Center hosts performing and visual art shows year round. In 2020, Eau Claire was named the third most livable small city in the U.S. Whether the outdoors, arts, shopping or hanging out in local coffee shops is your thing, Eau Claire has a lot to offer.

  • Job Description: We are a very small church in Northern Michigan in a beautiful area. If you are an outdoor enthusiast, we have lots of winter activities, skiing (down hill and cross country), snowmobiling, ice fishing, etc and the summer months are just as nice. Unfortunately, we need a pastor that is bi-vocational and that should change as the church grows.

We looking for a Bi-Vocational pastor who brings strong faith, and biblical knowledge to the position. Someone who will provide strong leadership and wisdom while working with our Elders and Ministry Teams to build and maintain a strong collaborative style of ministry.

It is of utmost importance for our pastor to have a rich, intimate and growing relationship with the Lord; we rely on him to regularly encourage us to remain faithful to our core beliefs (as defined by our conference, Converge Great Lakes Baptist Conference, and as stated in our church profile), and to equip us to fulfill our God-directed mission.

We desire a pastor with strong communication skills. One who is able to Teach and Preach the Word of God in an effective manner. We are seeking someone able to effectively communicate to both those who are far from Christ as well as to those who are more mature in their walk with the Lord.

We desire a pastor who is relationally warm, confident, committed, and humble with the ability to lead the congregation well through weekly prayer and preaching/teaching.

Above all, we desire for lives to be transformed by the Gospel of Jesus Christ and are praying for a pastor who exemplifies this same passion.
