WHAT IS A SEND LEADER?
To serve the individual Converge Regions, Converge International Ministries partners with a dedicated Send Leader in each region. The role of the Send Leader is to help equip, mobilize, and develop the local church for gospel advancement among the nations.
Here are three main areas that SEND Leaders can help your church.
Engaging the Congregation
We want to help everyone in your congregation have a role in reaching the nations. Through personalized coaching and sharing proven tools and resources, we can help you see how to involve everyone in your congregation – from the youngest to the oldest–in your global missions partnerships. Some of the resources we offer include:
Missions strategy development: We have a number of tools and processes that can help you make your missions more focused and intentional.
Resource ideas: Let us connect you with videos, books, articles, and classes that promote and inform your church regarding missions.
Missions Classes/Workshops: Choose from several offerings on missions that you can lead yourself or have us come and present.
Preaching and pulpit supply on missions: We would love to come and share teaching and preaching to help your congregation grow in understanding the biblical basis and practical application of God’s heart for missions
Connecting with Missionaries on the Field
Something special and powerful happens when a church embraces a mission that resonates with the church and is a great fit for its congregation. Our goal is to see Converge churches engaging in deep-level partnerships where there is a sense of connection with the team and the work in the field. This begins with selecting the right mission opportunities for your congregation, and Converge IM has come alongside many churches in evaluating their mission partnership opportunities. Once you have selected your global partners, we can come alongside to help equip you in being effective in prayer, tangible involvement, financial support, and effective short-term trips in ways that benefit both the church and the global workers.
Sending From Your Congregation
Studies show that 4% (1 in 25) of people are wired to be “global workers” (missionaries) in a cross-cultural context. That means that in a congregation of 100, there are likely 4 people who could potentially be global workers. However, there are many more who can be significantly involved in missions through shorter-term trips and commitments. We can provide resources to help prepare those who are going on short-term trips. And for those considering a deeper call to missions, Converge has extensive evaluation and training opportunities to help people discern their calling and to ensure that everyone who is called is adequately prepared. We would love to help you find out about opportunities for missions.
