Converge Great Lakes Is Impacting The Whole World!
Over the last month, I sent a request to every Great Lakes church to help me see what our mission’s impact is in the world. I asked for the names, locations, and agencies of the missionaries they support. I was very pleased with the response: 38 of our 106 churches! Thank you to all who responded, and if you haven’t yet responded, I would still love to get your information. Here is the impact from those reporting… since this is only some of our churches, the real totals could be as much as twice this!

Number of different Mission Agencies used: 88

It is very exciting to see that within our 1 ½ state region, we are touching this much of the world! And yet, as exciting as this is, there are also some opportunities for us to be better together. For example:
There are 8 missionaries in Thailand, and they are with 5 different agencies supported by 8 different churches. What more might be accomplished in Thailand if these churches could work together to support these 8 global workers?
There is another missionary in Japan who is supported by 8 different churches in CGL. Do these churches know who each other are?
For 132 missionaries, there is only ONE church in the Great Lakes supporting them. This means that they have to keep in contact in our region for the help of one church. Is there a more efficient way to see that missionaries are supported if we work together?
These are the interesting questions and opportunities that I see as I am getting a look at the missions landscape of Converge Great Lakes. We are making an incredible impact. But I also look forward to opportunities to help our (and your!) churches work together more effectively as we take the gospel to the ends of the earth.
